Dewey classification -- is a call number system that was
applied to those materials added to the library before 1984 --- and arranges
books by numbers from 001 999. Dewey books are housed on the 3rd and
4th floor of the library. For an explanation of how subjects are grouped in
the Dewey Decimal system visit the Dewey
Summaries pdf and go to page 10.
Call number systems are used by libraries to group books together by subject. Newer books have call numbers that begin with letters.
