The street level entrance brings you into thhe first floor lobby.

Straight ahead, behind the windows and soft seating, is the SMART Commons. Left of the seating, visit the McCollister Collection shelves-- current popular reading. The books change a couple times during the year. For current titles check out the McCollister Catalog on LibraryThing.

 The Circulation Desk is the main checkout point. There is also a self-checkout machine near the desk.

Reference

Do you have questions about our resources? Reference staff can assist you in locating materials and planning your research strategies in most subjects in arts, humanities and social sciences.

 

NOTE: In Fall 2009 the Business Reference collection and services moved from the basement to the first floor and are now a part of Wilson Reference. Business subject areas include: accounting, business finance, corporations and corporate history, health care management, human resources and industrial relations, information and decision sciences, marketing and logistics management, operations and management science, strategic management and organization, taxation, and related fields.

Reference Collection

The Reference Room has many reference books and a large table with library computer workstations.

Workstations on the left side are open access; the stations on the right require logon with University Internet ID and password. New students may need to initiate their accounts first.

Wilson Uniprint

Near the front door of the Reference Room (carpeted area) is the Uniprint workstation, where you can pick up output from workstations throughout the building. More computers and two additional Uniprint stations are in the basement.

Reference books, Call numbers

Be sure to check your call number carefully. Computers in the Reference Room and in the SMART Commons are available for you to look up titles in MNCAT. Business reference books have been moved from the basement location to be merged with the reference books on first floor.
