Directions to Wilson Library For Patrons Who Need Disability Parking

Wilson Library is located near Cedar and Riverside Avenues on the west bank campus of the University of Minnesota, on the left side of 4th Street between 20th and 21st Avenues (map). Nearby landmarks include Augsburg College, Fairview Riverside Hospital, Grandma's restaurant, and the Mixed Blood Theater.

Parking, including disability parking, is available in the 21st Avenue Parking Ramp. Wilson Library is across 4th Street from the Ramp. Contact Parking Services at (612) 626-7275 for additional information

Disability parking spaces are also located on 4th Street in front of the Carlson School of Management building. Wilson Library is behind the Carlson School of Management building. The following directions are to these parking spaces.

Via I-35W from North of the Campus

Take I-35W south to the University of Minnesota East Bank Exit (Exit 18). At the 2nd stoplight, turn LEFT onto University Avenue, cross over the freeway and turn RIGHT onto 10th Avenue S.E. Proceed across two bridges. 1 block past the 2nd bridge, turn LEFT onto 4th Street South. Wilson Library is on the left side between 20th and 21st Avenues. Turn RIGHT onto 21st Avenue and park in the 21st Avenue Ramp. I prefer this one because the exit ramp to Exit 17C backs up for blocks during rush hour. If the Twins or Vikings have a game downtown, it can also back up for blocks.

Via I-35W from South of the Campus

Take I-35 W North to the University of Minnesota Exit. (EXIT 17C) Follow the signs for the West Bank. At the top of the exit ramp turn RIGHT onto Washington Avenue. Follow Washington through 7 corners and around to the right. As it curves to the right it becomes Cedar Avenue. Follow Cedar Avenue across the bridge and 1 more block to Riverside Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Riverside and follow it 2 blocks to 20th Avenue. Turn LEFT onto 20th and follow it 1 block to 4th Street. Disability parking spaces are located across 4th Street in front of the Carlson School of Management building. Wilson Library is behind Carlson.

Via Westbound I-94

Take I-94 West to Riverside Avenue Exit. Turn RIGHT onto Riverside and follow it to 20th Avenue. Turn RIGHT onto 20th Avenue and go 1 block to 4th Street where disability parking is available in front of the Carlson School of Management building. Wilson Library is behind Carlson.

Via Eastbound I-94

Take I-94 East to I-35W. Take I-35W North to the University of Minnesota Exit. (EXIT 17C) Follow the signs for the West Bank. Turn RIGHT onto Washington Avenue. Follow Washington Avenue through 7 corners and around to the right. As it curves to the right, it becomes Cedar Avenue. Follow Cedar Avenue across the bridge and 1 more block to Riverside Avenue. Via Washington Avenue from Downtown Minneapolis

Take Washington Avenue East to I-35W. Cross I-35 W and Follow Washington Avenue through 7 corners and around to the right. As it curves to the right, it becomes Cedar Avenue. Follow Cedar Avenue across the bridge and 1 more block to Riverside Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Riverside and follow it 2 blocks to 20th Avenue. Turn LEFT onto 20th and follow it 1 block to 4th Street. Via Washington Avenue from the East Bank

Take Washington Avenue West across the Washington Avenue Bridge. Take the Cedar Avenue Exit. Turn LEFT onto Cedar Avenue at the top of the exit ramp , cross the bridge and go 1 block to Riverside Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Riverside and follow it 2 blocks to 20th Avenue. Turn LEFT onto 20th and follow it 1 block to 4th Street. Disability parking spaces are located across 4th Street in front of the Carlson School of Management building. Via University Avenue from Northeast Minneapolis

Take University Avenue to 10th Avenue S.E. and turn RIGHT. Proceed across two bridges. 2 blocks past the 2nd bridge, turn LEFT onto Riverside Avenue. Go 1 block and turn LEFT onto 20th and follow it 1 block to 4th Street. Disability parking spaces are located across 4th Street in front of the Carlson School of Management building. Wilson Library is behind Carlson.

Via University Avenue from St. Paul

Take University Avenue West to Washington Avenue S.E. Turn LEFT onto Washington Avenue and follow it through the East Bank and across the Washington Avenue Bridge. Take the Cedar Avenue Exit (it's the first exit after you cross the river). Turn LEFT at the top of the ramp, cross the bridge and go 1 block to Riverside Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Riverside and go 1 block to 20th Avenue. Turn LEFT onto 20th Avenue and go 1 block to 4th Street. Turn LEFT onto 4th Street. Via Highway 36 from St. Paul and Roseville

Take Highway 36 West to I-35W South. Take I-35W South to Washington Avenue (EXIT 17C). Turn LEFT onto Washington Avenue at the top of the exit ramp. At the top of the exit ramp turn LEFT onto Washington Avenue. Follow Washington Avenue through 7 corners and around to the right. As it curves to the right it becomes Cedar Avenue. Follow Cedar Avenue across the bridge and 1 more block to Riverside Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Riverside and follow it 2 blocks to 20th Avenue. Turn LEFT onto 20th and follow it 1 block to 4th Street.
