The focus of Wilson Annex is items from the monograph and periodical collections that require special handling due to their condition, format, content or size. Wilson Annex principally contains 19th century monographs and periodicals, photography monographs, elephantine monographs and periodicals, and selected government document collections. The Annex also pages uncataloged monographs and materials from remote storage. Access to Annex collections is staff mediated, because the collections are held in seven massive banks of compact shelving that share aisle space. Direct access to some collections is allowed, depending on the research needs.
